Through approximately VIN 13500, the under seat carpet is cut to fit the "tool box"depressions of early floor pans. The deep depressions are reported in VIN 11970, and a shallower depression is reported in VIN 11993.
The "toolwells" are approximate 2.5" deep depressions under the seats on early to mid production '63s. After the VIN sequence numbers indicated above they disappeared. The early '63s with these underseat depressions had the carpet cut and bound to surround then, and these cars also require the "jog" in the rear exhaust pipe section to clear them under the car
